Solitude and Society

«This was no news to him. Every now and then, he feels deep in his bones, an urge to re-establish the vital connection and natural sync, of the flow of his life and thoughts, with the universe’s. »
By Raquel R. in Short Story number 11

«Why, she reflected, should there be this perpetual disparity between the thought and the action, between the life of solitude and the life of society, this astonishing precipice on one side of which the soul was active and in broad daylight, on the other side of which it was contemplative and dark as night?»
                                                                                                                                            Virginia Woolf

«From the eye to the heart»

«It was one of those unpredictable moments, when a simple gesture or an unexpected attitude from someone we know, or we think we know, can suddenly change, in a few seconds, years of pre-defined opinions or even feelings that we used to experience about that person.»
By Raquel R. in Short Story number 9

«There is a road from the eye to the heart that does not go through the intellect.»
                                                                                           G.K. Chesterton

True north

«As he progressed in this unforgiving road, he concentrated his strength in each step he took. During the course of his long journey he learned that, when times of trouble hovered on the horizon, the best way to overcome the obstacles was by focusing one’s attention on small details and diverts one’s thoughts from the big picture. Otherwise it would be harder to maintain the faith to keep on going.»
By Raquel R. in Short Story number 5

« The compass points you true north but does not warn you of the obstacles and swamps along the way.»
